Holiday or special occasion decorations (e.g. birthdays or anniversaries) are allowed if confined to the marker/monument. Such decorations are permitted to remain seven (7) days after the holiday or special occasion.
Items to be left in place:
NOTE: Items are to be on headstone or directly next to it and meet the height requirement of 2 feet (24 inches) or less in flat marker areas and 3 feet (36 inches) or less in upright areas.
Presentable flowers in permanent vases or (1) PVC pipe
(1) Solar Cross, Angels, or Bible mounted in PVC pipe
Solar lights (2) maximum
(1) Shepherds' hooks that meet the area requirements
U.S. flags on staffs 3 feet or less
(1) Wind spinner
(1) Lighted candle in plastic on 1/4-inch rod
Only one floral arrangement is permitted on a grave after one week of the burial. Funeral flowers will be removed when the flowers are wilted. Flowers must be in vases; not put in the ground. Planting of flowers, shrubbery or trees is not permitted. NO GRAVE BORDERS ARE ALLOWED including rocks around the marker/monument. In the flat marker area, items must be less than 2 feet tall (24 inches). Items cannot be greater than 3 feet (36 inches) in the upright monument area.
Items to be removed:
All flowers not in permanent vases or (1) PVC pipe
Faded flowers that are in permanent vases or (1) PVC pipe
All statues, toys, etc. that are not set on markers or monuments
Anything glass, such as vases, decorations, etc.
All wood items, (crosses, plaques, etc.) and any items creating a grave border
Balloons, stuffed animals, etc.
Any items mounted on wood or plastic dowels
Any item not listed on the allowable list is not allowed
Any object or decoration that obstructs lawn care
Any type of border around the grave or headstone
Food or drinks
VCC is not responsible for items that are stolen, damaged/blown away by weather or daily upkeep of the property. Any damaged or unallowable items will be removed for safety reasons.
